The Business Award for Community Support has gone to Christie Australia, announced at the 2016 CeBIT Business Technology Awards held at the Sydney Olympic Park on May 3rd.

Organised by CeBIT Australia, the annual awards recognise excellence, innovation and achievement in the information and communications technology industry. Christie Australia managed to edge out four other esteemed finalists to clinch the coveted prize, which celebrates excellence in the deployment of innovative technology to enhance communities in their social cohesion, environmental responsibilities, and expression of common values.

The company’s award submission was based on the recent Christmas Gold Lotto City Hall Light Spectacular — a ‘son et lumiére’ show featuring projection mapped content onto the façade and clock tower of the Brisbane City Hall. The visual spectacle was planned and executed by Christie’s Australian partner, The Electric Canvas, during the Christmas seasons in 2013-2015, and featured a total of 16 Christie Roadster S+20K 3DLP projectors.

Commenting on the win, Michael Bosworth, General Manager, Christie Australia, said, “This is an extremely proud moment for all of us and we’re very happy to be the recipient of the Business Award for Community Support. This is the first time that we have won a community award and we are thrilled that the Christmas Gold Lotto City Hall Light Spectacular has benefited the community at large. I would like to thank the wonderful team led by Peter Milne from The Electric Canvas for delivering a top-notch show. It’s wonderful that the event had ignited the festive mood and fostered community bonding among Brisbanites during the Christmas season.”
